Causes and Prevention Methods of Falling Defects of Flocking Products

The main reason for the phenomenon of electrostatic flocking products, there may be the following problems.

① Fluff electric treatment. Due to the different treatment formula and the influence of dyes, the conductivity, soaring, dispersion and other characteristics of the fluff are different, the performance of the fluff from different manufacturers is different, and even the fluff performance of different colors from the same manufacturer is also very different. Due to poor fluff performance and low flocking fastness, the phenomenon of falling pile is more harmful than that caused by floating pile.

The effect of villus moisture regain. Moisture regain is generally considered to be ideal for flocking production at about 8%, and fluff lift below 8% is poor, difficult to take off twice, and difficult to recycle, resulting in large floating fluff remaining on the substrate. More than 8% of fluff moves too fast and irregularly in the electric field. Due to irregular fluff implantation, serious fluff falls after pre-drying, baking, bristle and other processes.

The quality of the adhesive. The quality of the adhesive has the following effects on the lint:

⑴ Poor adhesion fastness is easy to produce lint.

(2) the fastness of sizing thickness is good (but not the thicker the better). Generally, the sizing thickness is required to be controlled at about 0.2mm. Large-area flocking is mostly used for decorative articles, regardless of product feel, sizing thickness can reach more than 0.3mm.

The stretchability of the adhesive is better. When the semi-finished product is baked at high temperature, the adhesive and cross-linking agent undergo chemical cross-linking and curing to form a film under the catalysis of high temperature. When the semi-finished product is tentered and set at high temperature, the base fabric will be deformed by mechanical tension, resulting in the adhesive film adhered to the base fabric to break, and the fluff at the break will break away from the adhesive film through the bristles. Some of the fluff will be recovered by the vacuum cleaner, but some of static electricity, these fluff will fall off to produce the phenomenon of lint.

④ Improper control of drying and baking temperature. After flocking due to drying, baking temperature is too low, easy to produce lint when washing.

To prevent the occurrence of the phenomenon of falling down can be based on the above analysis of the reasons, strengthen the rationality of the electro-adhesive treatment formula; control the moisture regain of the fluff; to minimize the surface resistance ratio of the fluff and the substrate.
